Strong second quarter propels Blue Coats

The Delaware Blue Coats (7-4), NBA G League Affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated Greensboro Swarm (3-10) on Saturday at the Chase Fieldhouse after a big second quarter. 

 

The Blue Coats found themselves trailing at the end of the first quarter by two points by a score of 25-23. The Coats then went on to score 47 points in the second to take a 70-54 lead and never relinquished it again. Delaware went on to defeat the Swarm by a  139-119 victory.

 

The Blue Coats used balance scoring as they had six different players in the double figures. Ricky Council IV led the way with 25. Terquavion Smith 23 and David Duke Jr. 22 all scored over 20. Jaden Springer and Darius Bazley put up 19 and 15 respectively in their first game with their new team to help Delaware set a new season-high in points

 

The Swarm also had six players score in double figures in this high scoring affair with Amari Bailey leading all scorers with 26 points for. Jaylen Sims 24, Trevon Scott 22, Leaky Black 11, and Nathan Mensah 10 recorded double figures in scoring as well while  Terrell Brown Jr. added a double-double, with 18 points and 11 assists.

 

The Blue Coats will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 12 against the Raptors 905, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
