The boys’ lacrosse season is winding down as we have 2 full weeks left in the season and a lot more showdowns involving the top 5 teams in the ranking.
Coming up on Friday night the No. 3 Archmere Auks will travel to Lewes Delaware to take on No. Cape Henlopen. Both are playing the best they have all season and this showdown is huge as the state tournament approaches. They both beat No. 4 Friends last week as Cape won 10-9 in overtime and Archmere won 8-1. If you can’t get out to Cape Henlopen on Friday night you can catch the action on Delaware Live.
There are 2 big games other than the one mentioned above this week involving top 5 teams. Archmere has a home game against No. 5 Caesar Rodney. No. 1 Sallies travels to Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh to take on Upper Arlington (OH)

No. 1 Sallies (11-2)(LW No. 1) The Sals went 1-1 in a pair of one goal games. They defeated IMG Academy (FL) 17-16 and then lost to Malvern Prep (PA) 9-8 in a battle of top 5 teams in the nation. They travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday to face Upper Arlington (OH).
No. 2 Cape Henlopen (11-2)(LW No. 2) The Vikings went 2-0 last week after defeating No. 4 Friends 10-9, and Sussex Tech to close out conference play, They host No. 3 Archmere on Friday night..
No. 3 Archmere (8-4)(LW No. 3) The Auks went 2-0 last week with wins over DMA and No. 4 Friends. They host No. 5 Caesar Rodney on Wednesday and travel to No. Cape Henlopen on Friday night.
No. 4 Friends (9-2)(LW No. 4) The Quakers lost for the first time this season going 1-2 on the week. The win over Tower Hill was sandwiched by losses to No. 2 Cape Henlopen and No. 3 Archmere. They host Sanford on Tuesday. Wilmington Charter on Thursday, and travel to St Andrews on Saturday.
No. 5 Caesar Rodney (10-2)(LW No. 5) The Riders went 2-0 last week with wins over Appoquinimink and to Milford. They travel to No. 3 Archmere on Wednesday and host No. 7 Caravel on Saturday.
No. 6 Tatnall (8-4)(LW No. 6) The Hornets went 2-0 last week with wins over Tower Hill and St Andrew’s. They host Wilmington Christian on Tuesday and travel to Sanford on Thursday.
No. 7 Caravel (9-0)(No. 7) The Bucs defeated Milford last week in their only game. They host No. 8 Smyrna on Tuesday, travel to St Andrews on Thursday, and travel to No. 5 Caesar Rodney on Saturday.
No. 8 Smyrna (9-2)(LW No. 9) The Eagles defeated Polytech last week. They travel to No. 7 Caravel on Tuesday night and host DMA on Saturday.
No. 9 Saint Mark’s (10-2)(LW No. 10) The Spartans went 3-0 last week with wins over Delcastle, Concord, and Tower Hill. They host Red Lion on Saturday.
No. 10 Wilmington Charter (9-2)(LW Unranked) The Force re-entered the rankings this week after wins over Milford and then No. 8 Middletown. They travel to DMA on Tuesday, and to No. 4 Friends on Thursday.
