The weather doesn’t look good again this week as the girls soccer resumes play for the final 4 week sprint to the state tournament.. 

 

The Division 1 No. 1 team Middletown is rolling along this season as they are off to a 5-0 start.  They have outscored their opponents 35-0 which is an average of 7-0 scores in their 5 matches.  They have a tough one this week as they travel to Claymont on Monday to play Division 2 Champion Archmere.  This should be a fun one as both defending champions meet.

 

The Sanford Warriors enter the Division 2 top 10 this week after winning two games last week.  They are 4-1 which is more wins then they had all of last year.  Their only loss so far is a 4-3 loss to Division 1 No. 3 Padua.  They have outscored their opponents 22-7 so far this season.  They have a key Independent conference match this week against Friends.

Division 1

No. 1 Middletown (5-0)(LW No, 1)  The Cavs return from the break with two home wins over Christiana and DMA.  They will be on the road  this week as they travel to Division 2 No. 3 Archmere on Monday,

 

No. 2 Appoquinimink (5-1)(LW No. 2)  The Jags went 2-0 last week with wins vs  Newark Charter 2-1 and No. 8 Odessa 2-0.  They host No. 4 Wilmington Charter on Monday.

 

No.3 Padua (3-2)(LW No. 7) The Pandas had a good week last week beating No. 3 Wilmington Charter and No. 6 Smyrna.  The Pandas jumped 4 spots with those wins.  This week they head south as they play Catawba Ridge (SC) on Thursday and Charlotte Latin (NC) on Saturday.

 

No.4 Wilmington Charter (4-2)(LW No. 3) The Force went 1-1 last week defeating MOT Charter and falling to Padua.  They have a busy week as they travel to No. 2 Appoquinimink on Monday, travel to FSMA on Wednesday, and host St Andrew;s on Thursday. 

 

No. 5 Sussex Tech (4-1-1)(LW No. 5) The Ravens defeated Delmarva Christian and lost to Delmar.  They host No. 10 Smtrna on Tuesday and Woodbridge on Thursday,

 

No. 6 Polytech (3-1-2)(LW No. 4) The Panthers tied Smyrna 3-3 and lost to Division 2 No. 4 Sussex Academy.  They travel to No. 7 Caesar Rodney on Tuesday.

 

No. 7 Caesar Rodney (5-1)(LW No. 10) The Riders went 2-0 last week with wins over Milford and Indian River.  They host No. 6 Polytech on Tuesday.

 

No. 8 Odessa (3-2-1)(LW No. 8)  The Ducks beat No. 9 Delcastle and lost to No. 2 Appoquinmink last week.  They host St Georges Tech on Wednesday night and Milford on Friday.

 

No. 9 Delcastle (3-2)(LW No. 9)   The Cougars were 1-1 last week losing to No. 8 Odessa 3-2 and beating St Georges Tech 2-1.  They travel to Concord on Monday, Christiana on Wednesday and host Hodgson on Friday,

 

No. 10 Smyrna (1-3-1)(LW No. 6)  The Eagles tied No. 4 Polytech 3-3 and lost to then No. 7 Padua 3-2.  They travel to No. 5 Sussex Tech on Tuesday .

 

Division 2

No. 1 Caravel (5-0)(LW No.1)   The Bucs defeated ECHS and Tower Hill last week.  They host Wilmington Christian on Tuesday.

 

No. 2 Saint Mark’s (3-0)(LW No. 2)   The Spartans defeated Friends  last week.  They host Delmarva Christian on Monday, travel to Newark on Wednesday, and host St Eizabeth’s on Friday.

 

No. 3 Archmere (4-0)(LW No. 4) The Auks went 2-0 last week with wins over Conrad and Ursuline.  They host Division No. 1 Middletown on Monday, and St Elizabeth’s on Wednesday.

 

No. 4 Sussex Academy (5-0)(LW No. 6) The Seahawks defeated Woodbridge and then  Division 1 No. 4 Polytech last week.  They host Lake Forest on Tuesday.

 

No. 5  Indian River (2-1-1)(LW No. 6) The Indians went 1-1 last week with a win over Seaford before losing to Caesar Rodney.  They travel to Woodbridge on Tuesday and Delmarva Christian on Thursday.

 

No. 6 Conrad (4-2)(LW No. 7) The Red Wolves went 1-1 last week defeating ECHS and losing to No. 3 Archmere.  They travel to DMA on Wednesday, and No. 8 Concord on Friday.

 

No. 7 Sanford (4-1)(LW Unrank)    The Warriors enter the top 10 this week after beating two ranked teams last week, St Andrew’s and Wilmington Christian.  They travel to Friends on Tuesday and host Tatnall on Thursday

 

No. 8 Concord (4-1)(LW Unranked) The Raiders entered the top 10 this week after beating Howard.  They host Division 1 No. 9 Delcastle on Monday. Travel to AI DuPont on Wednesday, and host No. 6 Conrad on Friday.

 

No. 9 St Andrew’s (3-2)(LW No. 9) The Saints went 2-1 last week as they lost to Sanford to begin the week but rebounded to beat Tatnall and Wilmington Christian.  They host Tower Hill on Tuesday and travel to Wilmington Charter on Thursday.

No. 10 Newark Charter (2-3)(LW No. 8)  The Patriots lost to Division 1 No. 2 Appoquinimink 2-1 and defeated DMA 2-1 last week.  They host MOT Charter on Wednesday.
