Detectives Arrest Man for Felony Assault

The Delaware State Police have arrested 83-year-old Brooks Garrison of Frankford, Delaware for felony assault following a domestic incident on Thursday afternoon in Frankford.

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 4:43 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 34000 block of Shockley Town Road, Frankford, for a report of a stabbing. The investigation revealed that Garrison threatened to kill a relative before he stabbed her multiple times with a knife. He then fled the scene in his car. Shortly afterward, he called 911 to turn himself in, and was taken into custody by troopers without incident.

The victim, an adult woman whose identity will not be disclosed, was treated and released from an area hospital for serious injuries.

Garrison was taken to Troop 4 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Assault First Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening (Felony)

Garrison was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $102,000 cash bond.
