Delmarva Corrugated Packaging recently showed off its $90 million high-tech manufacturing facility in Dover that makes state-of-the-art packaging and has created jobs for 160 people.
During its “open the box” event, it also announced a new solar panel project and a partnership with Autism Delaware.
The  465,000-square-foot, rail-served facility is  located on a 37.4-acre site at 1601 POW/MIA Parkway and is rail fed. The plant is credited with strengthening the critical logistical supply chain of the Mid-Atlantic region.
It has been operational since December 2021.
The plant is filled with the latest technology for its industry and relies on advanced manufacturing practice that make it 30% more efficient than required, diverting millions of tons of post-consumer wastepaper from landfills each year.

During the event, the company announced the installation of a 2-megawatt photovoltaic system that officials believe will be the largest rooftop solar panel installation in Delaware.
The solar panels will allow about one-third of the facilityâs power to be generated by the sun, about the equivalent of the electricity needed to power about 250 homes.
Delaware Corrugated Packaging also announced a programming partnership with Autism Delaware and presented a $10,000 check to Executive Director Brian Hall. The partnership and donation will support participation in social opportunities for families dealing with autism.
Delmarva Corrugated’s move
Federal, state, local, business community and company officials praised DCPâs impact on the Delaware, Kent County and Dover-area economic landscape.
The plant moved from New Jersey to Delaware amid a series of incentives from local and state officials amid a shower of local and state grants and incentives, including a 10-year tax abatement, a grant from the Delaware Transportation Infrastructure Investment Fund and $3.1 million from the Delaware Strategic Fund.
 âThe reception we have received from the State of Delaware, from Kent County, the municipality, you could not have been more welcoming,â said DCP Chairman Dennis Mehiel. âWeâre proud to be here, and we are extremely grateful to the community in both the business and the public sector.â
