Avelo Airlines has launched new nonstop routes from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida, expanding its offerings to 14 destinations from the Delaware Valley hub.
The low-cost carrier began twice-weekly service to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) on Thursday, May 22. Service to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) will begin Friday, May 23. Flights to Raleigh-Durham will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, while Jacksonville flights are scheduled for Fridays and Mondays. Fares for both routes start at $44 one-way.
Avelo is currently the only airline offering nonstop flights between Wilmington and these two destinations. All flights are operated on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Delaware River and Bay Authority Executive Director Thomas J. Cook also praised the airline’s expansion.

In addition to the two new cities, Avelo also offers nonstop service from ILG to Myrtle Beach, Nashville, San Juan, Wilmington (N.C.), and nine cities across Florida.
