Zack Williams was forced to cancel his Delaware Fair show set for Saturday.

Saturday’s musical act at the Delaware State Fair was abruptly canceled after Tennessee-based artist Zach Williams announced he contracted COVID-19.

Williams’ set was to be followed by a fireworks display, which have been rescheduled to Friday, July 3 immediately after “An Evening with 38 Special,” Friday’s musical act.  They are expected to start about 9:30 p.m.

The fair will issue full refunds to Williams’ ticket-holders, an email to ticketholders said.

Customers who paid by credit or debit card will see a credit on the card they used to purchase the tickets within five business days.

Customers who purchased tickets at the box office will be mailed a refund check within 7-10 business days.

Customers who purchased tickets through third-party services such as StubHub will have to coordinate with the ticket-selling platforms to secure refunds.

In a notification email sent to ticket holders, Williams asked fans to pray for his family.

“Though my band and I have taken as many precautions as possible while touring this year, it finally caught up with me,” Williams said. “Please keep me and my family in your prayers. Fortunately, the virus is presenting itself in a manageable way and I am resting and recuperating at home. Thank you all and God bless.”’

Williams is Christian rock artist from Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was formerly the lead singer of southern rock band ‘Zach Williams and the Reformation’ before moving to Tennessee and going solo in 2016 after “dedicating his life to Christ.”

Presuming his recovery from COVID-19, Williams’ tour will take him to state fairs in Kentucky, Alaska, Oregon and Washington throughout August and September.

According to the Delaware State Fair, the original concert schedule, which featured big names like Sam Hunt, TobyMac and Hank Williams Jr., had to be scrapped due to uncertainty surrounding COVID restrictions.

The fair ends Saturday.
