Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library is once again transforming its grand estate into a storybook setting for its annual holiday celebration. Yuletide at Winterthur will run from November 22, 202,5, through January 4, 2026, offering visitors a festive walk through history, literature and holiday tradition.

The museum and mansion are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended evening hours on select Fridays and Saturdays beginning November 28. During these evenings, the house and grounds glow with soft lights, creating a warm and inviting holiday atmosphere.

This year’s Yuletide theme brings classic tales to life inside the historic home. Visitors will find richly decorated rooms inspired by beloved stories, with each space designed to showcase the wonder and whimsy of the season. New this year is a detailed gingerbread recreation of Winterthur’s historic train station, crafted by local artists and bakers and displayed prominently as part of the exhibition.

Other seasonal highlights include themed Christmas trees, an elaborate toy train display and intricate floral arrangements throughout the mansion. Outside, the gardens offer twinkling lights, woodland scenes and scenic paths perfect for holiday photos.

Families visiting the estate can enjoy hands-on activities, weekend programming and several special events throughout the season. Winterthur will host a holiday market on opening day, along with opportunities for children to participate in crafts and storytelling programs. Additional events include live music, firepit gatherings, and select appearances by Santa Claus.

Visitors planning to explore Yuletide are encouraged to dress warmly for the outdoor portions of the experience and to allow extra time for the house tour, gardens and any special programs they may wish to attend. The estate covers nearly 1,000 acres, providing ample space for leisurely walks, seasonal photos and peaceful moments amid the decorated landscape.

Yuletide at Winterthur has become one of the region’s most cherished traditions, bringing together art, nature and holiday celebration in a setting unlike any other. From the sparkle of the grand trees to the charm of the gingerbread station and the nostalgic scenes within the mansion, the event captures the spirit and imagination of the season.

Whether you are returning as part of an annual family ritual or discovering the event for the first time, Winterthur’s Yuletide display offers beauty, creativity and holiday cheer for visitors of all ages. The festivities continue through early January, giving guests plenty of opportunities to enjoy the lights, sounds and stories that define this year’s celebration.
