Fairy Fest

New Castle County’s free Fairy Fest will take place Sunday, Sept. 15, from noon to 4 pm. at Rockwood Park.

If your little one is a unicorn fan, Rockwood Park’s annual Fairy Fest has a don’t-miss event for you: Pictures with unicorn ponies.

It’s one of the many activities geared for childhood attention spans, when the festival returns from noon to 4 p.m. at Rockwood on Sunday, Sept. 15.

A celebration of childhood imagination, Fairy Fest includes a costume parade, Little Farm Petting Zoo, Tinkertown, make-and-take crafts, Enchanted Story times, outdoor games, a  live performances by area dance and theatre groups, free museum family tours, food trucks and a craft vendor marketplace.

Fairies, pirates, gnomes, superheroes and regular kids are welcome and — best of all — admission is free.

There is no on-site parking, and no parking is frowned up on in the streets and neighborhoods surrounding Rockwood.

Patrons should park at Rockwood Office Park at 501 Carr Rd., Wilmington and ride the shuttle service to and from the park.
