WINTERTHUR- Families are invited to step into a magical world of music, storytelling, crafts, and outdoor play during Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library’s Enchanted Summer Day.

The event will take place this Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the museum’s Enchanted Woods children’s garden, which offers a variety of performances and activities designed to spark imagination and celebrate the outdoors.

Entertainers include musical acts Silly Joe and Mary Roth, storyteller Terry Colonna, magician Chris Fabiano, and the Give & Take Jugglers.

Children can engage in 19th-century games like Graces, hoop rolling, and ring toss, or create magical woodland wands and crowns using natural materials. Hands-on learning opportunities will be provided by the Delaware Master Naturalists and members of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, who will demonstrate traditional wood-shaping techniques.

Visitors are also encouraged to explore Enchanted Woods, a three-acre garden designed especially for children. The interactive space includes whimsical features such as a thatched-roof Faerie Cottage, a Tulip Tree House, a Bird’s Nest climbing area, and a Fairy Ring with misting toadstool sculptures. Water-loving children can cool off at Frog Hollow and Water’s Edge, designated water play zones.

Food, including burgers, hot dogs, and snacks, will be available for purchase throughout the day.

The drop-in program is free for Winterthur members and included with regular admission for all other guests.
