WILMINGTON- Residents are encouraged to participate in Wilmington Community Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event, part of the city’s Beautiful City Initiative, encourages individuals, community groups, and neighborhood associations to take part in projects aimed at improving local spaces.
Participants can contribute by cleaning vacant lots, planting trees, organizing block cleanups, landscaping, or assisting with projects at community centers and senior facilities. Mayor John Carney is championing the initiative, reinforcing the city’s commitment to maintaining clean neighborhoods.
“Everyone can participate, your family, neighbors, community groups, churches and local businesses,” Mayor John Carney said in a video promoting the event.
Interested volunteers can sign up by emailing communitycleanupday@wilmingtonde.gov. For more information, residents can call Wilmington 311 or (302) 576-2620 for assistance outside city limits. Supplies, gloves, and bags will be provided.
