WILMINGTON – The city of Wilmington honored the late Honorable Theodore “Ted” Blunt with a dedication ceremony, ending in the unveiling of the Theodore Blunt Commemorative Wall.

Mayor John Carney also spoke at the ceremony, praising Blunt’s strong leadership.

“His job was both to lead Council, to respond to constituents and to work with the mayor to move the city forward. And you think about it by naming this space, this gallery, which we’ll see in a minute of city leaders after Ted Blunt, we are reaffirming the way he approached life and the work he did for our city, we are saying, this is the example that we all should emulate. This is how it should be done,” said Mayor Carney.

Former colleagues and family members shared personal anecdotes, painting a vivid picture of Blunt’s mentorship, integrity, and steadfast dedication to public service. Their stories highlighted his role as both a leader and a guiding force for many in Wilmington.
