Wilmington Art Loop returns with exhibits and community events

WILMINGTON- Art lovers and city residents are invited to experience the vibrancy of Wilmington’s art scene at the next Wilmington Art Loop, set for Friday, April 4, 2025. Now in its 38th year, the beloved FREE event is a collaborative effort between the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Out & About Magazine.

The Wilmington Art Loop offers a self-guided exploration of local galleries, studios, and alternative exhibition spaces, bringing together artists and patrons in a celebration of creativity. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet featured artists, enjoy refreshments, and in some cases, experience live entertainment.

Explore Wilmington’s art scene on the shuttle 

The City of Wilmington’s Parks & Recreation Department will provide a free shuttle service. The shuttle will depart from The Delaware Contemporary at 200 South Madison Street at 5:45 p.m. and return at 8:30 p.m. Riders will even have the chance to vote for their preferred galleries to visit. No reservation is required.

Highlighted art exhibitions

This month’s Art Loop features an eclectic mix of exhibitions that showcase local and international talent. Some of the must-see stops include:

  • Redding Gallery (800 N. French Street): Sally Kristen Ride – A photographic tribute celebrating the contributions of women, both local and global. Featured figures include Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester, Lt. Andrea Boone, and Dr. Velma Scantlebury. Reception: 5–7 p.m.
  • Mezzanine Gallery (820 N. French Street): Myth, Muse, and Monster (and Other Nonsensical Oddities) by J.F. Arsenault. A collection of mythological creatures, legends, and muses designed to spark the imagination. Reception: 5–7 p.m.
  • Bridge Art Gallery (213 N. Market Street): Fiber Secrets: The Art of Maurice Evans – A dynamic solo exhibition featuring bold colors, textures, and textile-inspired compositions that weave themes of culture and identity. Reception: 5–8 p.m.
  • MKT Gallery (200 W. 9th Street): Blondie Mansion Suites Residency Pop-Up – A lively opening night featuring local businesses and artists in a unique fusion of shopping, art, and community engagement. Event: 7–9 p.m.
  • Christina Cultural Arts Center (705 N. Market Street): Eye Shadow – A powerful, multi-artist exhibition presenting themes of feminism, motherhood, social justice, and spirituality from a woman’s perspective. Reception: 5–7 p.m.
