*Update – Suspect Arrested* Delaware State Police Investigating Convenience Store Robbery

Delaware State Police have arrested 30-year-old Sirea Boone of Philadelphia, PA, for felony criminal charges following the armed robbery of a convenience store early Thursday morning.

On January 19, 2023, troopers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 298 South Maryland Avenue in Wilmington for a reported armed robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect entered the convenience store and displayed a handgun. The suspect then demanded an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene before the police arrived.

Through investigative leads, detectives were able to identify Boone as the suspect involved in this robbery. On January 20, 2023, members of the Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force contacted Boone during a traffic stop on New Castle Avenue in New Castle, Delaware. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery 1st Degree- Display What Appears to be a Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

Boone was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $55,000 cash bail.
