Wilmington, Del. — The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) invites the public to join in a meaningful evening of celebration and community at the 2025 Shining Light Awards, taking place Wednesday, August 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Waterfall in Claymont. This annual event honors the people, businesses, and organizations that make DBCC’s life-saving work possible—and this year’s honoree embodies that spirit in every way.
Twisted Irons Craft Brewing Company, a Newark-based craft brewery founded in 2020 by Matt Found and Dave Markle, will receive the 2025 Shining Light Award for their exceptional commitment to the cause of breast cancer awareness, support, and advocacy. Their signature Pinipple NEIPA beer donates $1 per pint directly to DBCC programs, and their contributions extend well beyond the taproom.
From hosting planning sessions and volunteering at DBCC events, to inspiring grassroots fundraisers like the Kickoff to Summer 5K, Drive Out Cancer Golf Tournament, and Jenn’s F Cancer Benefit, Twisted Irons has helped drive awareness and fundraising efforts across the region. Their community-first culture, led in part by co-founder Lori Found’s ongoing volunteerism, has made DBCC’s mission part of the brewery’s identity, and their example has inspired countless others to get involved.
“We appreciate the honor of this award,” said co-founder Matt Found, “but the real heroes are the ones battling breast cancer and those working every day to end this disease for good. We’re proud to stand beside them in this fight.”
