Troopers Arrest New Jersey Man on Multiple Liquor Store Burglaries

The Delaware State Police have arrested 56-year-old Jay Boyce of Bridgeton, NJ, in connection with multiple burglaries and related charges.

The five incidents occurred throughout the month of October 2021, when Troopers began investigating a rash of burglaries to liquor stores in the New Castle and Bear area. Through investigative measures, Boyce was identified as the suspect.

Today, May 19, 2022, Boyce was extradited back to Delaware and turned over to the Delaware State Police. Boyce was transported back to Troop 6 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary Third Degree (Felony)
  • Attempted Burglary Third Degree (Felony)- 4 counts
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)- 5 counts
  • Possession of Burglary Tools (Felony)- 4 counts
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Criminal Mischief- 3 counts

Boyce was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $45,000 secured bond.
