Delaware Military Academy (DMA) would use a big third quarter to pull away from Wilmington Friends. Coming out of the half the score was tied 3-3. T

hen DMA would reel of 5 goals straight goals to separate from the Quakers

DMA’s  Andrew Henry would scoop up the loose ball from the opening face, run right down the field and score just 12 seconds into the third quarter. DMA Would get its second goal as Henry would scoop up another loose ball in Friends territory, sprint down the field and find his teammate Matthew Woodall all alone in front of the net.

DMA’s Thomas Whitaker lead all scorers with seven goals

DMA’s Senior leader Thomas Whitaker would then put his touches on the game as he would score two goals one off an assist from Woodall from behind the net. The second would come unassisted as he made a great spin move to juke the defender with a great shot on goal that would touch the back of the net.

The third quarter scoring for DMA would be capped off by Woodall finding Braedon Dougherty cutting in front of the net for the fifth goal of the quarter. Friends would get a goal from freshman Nick Winchell making the score 8-4 heading into the fourth. 

Whitaker would pick up where he left off in the fourth quarter tacking on two more goals to lead all scorers with seven goals. Winchell would again score in the fourth quarter for friends leading the Quakers with 3 goals.

DMA would hold on to a 10-5 victory bringing their record to 7-1 on the season. Friends would drop their third game of the season bringing their record to 3-3.

DMA will face Red Lion this Thursday April 22nd at home with a start time of 3:30pm. Friends will host Tatnall this Friday April 23rd with a start time of 4:15 p.m.
