Post One wins third consecutive Legion Championship

Post One defeated Stahl Post to win their third consecutive American Legion Baseball state championship. Post one was able to hold off Stahl by a score of 6-3 at Wilson Field Tuesday afternoon. 

 

Post One jumped out to an early lead scoring two runs in the second inning then added three more in the third inning. They scored five runs on just three hits as Stahl Post 30 pitcher Peyton Brannock struggled with his command by walking six batters. 

 

Post went on to score one run in the fourth, then two more in the sixth as walks continued to take their toll on the Stahl Post pitchers. Post scored six runs on six hits and was led by Tyler Satterfield with two. 

 

 Stahl Post 30 scored three runs on three hits with Brannock, Brandon Crygo and Shawn Roy each totalling one each.  

 

Steven Mann got the win for Post One going five innings striking out six batters allowing three runs. Zach Czarnecki got the save, closing out the last two innings retiring six straight batters.

 

Brannock took the loss for Stahl Post 30 allowing five runs in three innings while striking out three. Crygon came in relief of Brannock going four innings while striking out one. 

 

Post One will now advance to play in the Mid-Atlantic regional tournament in Asheboro, North Carolina. Their first game is scheduled for Wednesday August 2nd at 7:30pm. LINK
