Two exists involving Interstate 95 and debris removal on Barley Mill Road will snag traffic in the next week.
Paving will close two I95-Route 141 exits from 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, through 8 p.m. Sunday, July 25, weather permitting, the Delaware Department of Transportation said this week.
Exit 3B/Route 141 Northbound to I-95 Southbound, Newport, and Exit 5B/I-95 Southbound to Route 141 Northbound, Newport, will close.
The detour for Exit 3B will require motorists to take the ramp to Route 4 and continue straight onto Marshall Street, turn left onto westbound Route 4/Justis Street, turn left onto James Street, turn left onto eastbound Route 4/Market Street and take the ramp to Route 141 southbound and take the ramp to I-95 southbound.
The detour for Exit 5B will require motorists on I-95 southbound and I-495 to take the ramp to I-295 northbound. Take the ramp to US 13 northbound and take the ramp to US 13 southbound, turn left onto US 13 southbound and take the ramp to Route 141 northbound.
Motorists on I-95 southbound will take the ramp to Route 58/Churchmans Road and turn right onto Route 7/Stanton Christiana Road and stay straight to Route 4/Mitch Road/Market Street and turn left onto Marshall Street and take the ramp to Route 141 northbound.
Detour signage will be posted.
On Wednesday, July 28, the removal of tree debris will close Barley Mill Road between Mt. Cuba Road and Rolling Mill Road in Yorklyn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting
Residents who live within the closure will have access to their homes, but may need to take the posted detour route.
Northbound motorists are advised to take Brackenville Road to Old Wilmington Road onto Lancaster Pike to Centerville Road.
Southbound motorists should take Mt. Cuba Road to Creek Road.
