DELAWARE – In Our Weekend Preview, we go from soaring show tunes to cider-scented festivals and even a beach full of golden retrievers as Delaware is serving up a weekend as colorful as the fall leaves will soon be. Whether you crave a night of Broadway laughs, a cozy bonfire, or a dash of craft beer and dog-friendly fun, here’s your guide to the state’s must-see arts and entertainment happenings.

Theater & Live Music

Mrs. Doubtfire (Wilmington – Playhouse on Rodney Square) – The beloved film comes to life as a Broadway hit comedy-musical with big laughs, heartfelt family themes and dazzling choreography. Perfect for multi-generational audiences. Saturday’s 2 p.m. matinee kicks off a full weekend of performances.

Ragtime (Ardentown – Candlelight Theatre) – The Tony-nominated musical brings early 20th-century America to the stage with soaring music and interwoven stories of family, ambition and social change. Candlelight’s intimate setting puts audiences close to the action, making this sweeping tale of hope and hardship even more powerful. Shows run throughout the weekend, with dinner-and-show packages available.

What The Dance @ The Queen (Wilmington) – The Queen hosts a high-energy dance and electronic showcase with live DJs, lights and a club-style atmosphere Saturday night. Expect a younger crowd and plenty of movement on the floor.

D Corridori Project Live (Bellefonte Café, Wilmington) – Local musicians blend jazz, folk and experimental sounds in an intimate set at the cozy Bellefonte Café. The music flows Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Festivals & Family Fun
