WILMINGTON — The Northside Food & Culture Market will return to Haynes Park this summer, offering fresh produce, crafts, and live entertainment every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., starting June 26 through October 30.
Now in its third year, the market has evolved from a single pop-up event in 2023 to a full seasonal series rooted in community partnerships. This summer, the market will remain at Haynes Park, near 32nd and Franklin Streets, and will be held in conjunction with the Harlan Civic Association’s Summer in the Park family programming.
The Jefferson Street Center (JSC) organizes the market with local organizations, including Cultural Restoration Project, Mazi Creative, and Girls Like Us. According to organizers, the event serves as both a community gathering and a platform to improve access to healthy, affordable food.

New programs are being introduced this season to expand the market’s impact. SNAP/EBT shoppers will benefit from a Double Bucks program that doubles the value of fruits and vegetables purchased with their benefits. In addition, a vendor subsidy initiative will allow leftover healthy food to be redistributed through donations to community fridges, local pantries, subsidized senior housing, and youth summer programs.
Organizers say the market reflects a collaborative effort from local residents and community leaders.
