Delawareans can enjoy a regional staple and snag a free t-shirt Friday as a new Wawa hosts a grand opening at 1800 Naamans Road in North Wilmington.
Festivities start at 7:45 a.m. with Wawa General Manager Kenny Dennis counting down the moment when the doors open for the very first time at 8 a.m., with free “Coffee and Connections,” shirts for the first 100 customers.
There will also be free hot samples of Wawa’s limited-time coffee flavor Caramel Cream, and free hot coffee, any size, all day long.
At 8:30 a.m., customers are invited to participate in a brief ceremony to celebrate the new store team and the positive impact associates will have on the community.
The ceremony concludes with the Wawa signature Hoagies for Heroes hoagie building competition between first responders and an official ribbon cutting with mascot Wally Goose.
“Wawa is proud to open its doors to provide trusted quality products, convenience, new jobs, support, and to fulfill lives in the community,” the company stated.
This will be the 50th Wawa location in the First State, with the first opening in 1969.
The closest store to the new one is 601 Naamans Road.
