A new community center providing support to transitioning military veterans broke ground this week in Milford.
The Home of the Brave Foundation, in partnership with Nally Ventures and Horizon Construction Services, hosted the ceremony Tuesday.
The mission of the foundation is to reduce homelessness among military veterans.
In addition to providing transitional housing, food, and security, it assists with employment, counseling services, access to healthcare, transportation, and locating affordable housing.
The foundation’s goal is to help veterans successfully transition into permanent housing and personal independence.
The one-story community center will include an office, multi-purpose space, bathrooms, storage room and an outdoor covered activity space to provide programs and services for veterans.
Nally Ventures and Horizon Construction Services are partnering to facilitate fundraising and provide construction management services for the project.
