For nearly two decades, the Junior League of Wilmington has made people drool over kitchens, both because of the swank new designs and because of talented chefs serving samples in them.

This year, though, the kitchen tour program moves online and in April will feature nine self-guided tours and a choice of cooking classes from the likes of Dan Butler of Toscana and Brandywine Prime, Evangelina Guajardo from Evangelina’s Vegan Desserts, and David Leo Banks, chef-owner of Banks’ Seafood Kitchen and Raw Bar — all from the comfort of your sofa.

Each ticket is $30 and includes a choice of a cooking class. Additional cooking classes can be bought on the website.

The featured kitchens will represent a variety of styles, sizes, and features.

Cooking classes will take place throughout the month as well, in a live virtual format, where chefs will prepare a meal or dessert, including a seasonal fruit tart, ricotta gnocchi, vegan dessert and build-your-own-charcuterie board with cocktail pairing.

Buy tickets on the tour website.

The tours started in 2004 and quickly became the league’s largest fundraising effort.

Proceeds this year support the League’s new initiative, Stand Up. Period. With it, the League has committed to raise awareness of period equity in Wilmington and work towards ensuring individuals have equitable access to affordable period supplies.

This year’s Tour is sponsored by DuPont, Signature Construction, Giorgi Kitchens & Designs, Craft-way Kitchens, Waterbury Kitchen & Bath, Cheryl Umbles Interior Design, WSFS, Out & About, and Wheeler Home Concepts.
