WILMINGTON — Wilmington Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent burglary that included the theft of a dog.

According to police, officers responded to a residence in the 4100 block of North West Street on May 30 around 1:14 a.m. following a report of a burglary. Investigators say various items were taken from the home, including a female French Bulldog named “Tooty.”

The Wilmington Police Department has released a photo of Tooty and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Officials encourage community members to share any relevant information, no matter how small, as they work to locate the missing dog and identify those responsible for the burglary. Detective Jessica Gledhill of the Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation.
