WILMINGTON- Dubformer, an innovative AI-driven dubbing technology, announced the successful closure of a $3.6 million seed funding round.

Led by Almaz Capital, joined by key investors s16vc and FinSight, along with angel investors like Arul Menezes, founder of Microsoft Translator, and Funa Maduka, former head of International Original Film at Netflix.

This investment will drive the company’s mission to push the boundaries of emotional expression in AI dubbing and further enhance global media localization. Emotion Transfer, is a technology that enhances dubbing by transferring emotions rather than merely cloning voices.

The newly secured funding will be strategically directed toward three key areas of development, all aimed at improving Dubformer’s technology for professional media companies over the next two years. Including expanding professional solutions, improving translation technology, and engaging live dubbing for real-time broadcasts.

The funding will also enable Dubformer to strengthen its position in the competitive AI dubbing market. With experience delivering broadcast dubbing for industry giants like NBC Universal, and All3Media.

We’re also growing our client base, with significant contracts from major players that we can’t yet disclose publicly, said Anton Dvorkovich, the CEO of Dubformer.

We’re constantly developing new methods to bring AI dubbing closer to reality. Our Emotion Transfer technology has already proven its success, emphasizing emotionally resonant, natural dubbing that goes beyond simple voice cloning,Dvorkovich said.

Now, the company is focusing on developing new features and preparing to launch broadcast AI dubbing, tailored specifically for media companies.

This funding brings support from industry leaders,  enabling Dubfromer to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions that meet the evolving needs of the media industry.

Since its launch, Dubformer has experienced rapid growth, averaging over 50% month-over-month.

According to Dvorkovich, Dubformer’s rapid 50% month-over-month growth rate can be attributed to two  factors. The first being winning first place at the WMT competition for speech translation—outperforming major players like Google and ChatGPT—has solidified Dubformer’s credibility in the industry. Secondly, the company’s launch of a new professional studio product has been instrumental in accelerating growth. The tool, which blends human expertise with AI, has been quickly embraced by leading global studios for its ability to deliver high-quality dubbing.

The biggest growth opportunities will come from the surge in personalized, ad-supported content and media companies expanding into regions like MENA, Africa, and the Balkans.

“Traditional localization methods are often too costly for these markets, but AI-driven dubbing makes it simpler and more affordable,he said.

Looking to the future, Dubformer sees exponential growth potential in the AI media localization space.

“As global video production and consumption continue to rise, the demand for scalable, cost-effective dubbing solutions will grow.”
