DelVets reaches final four at American Legion World Series

UPDATE: The DelVets were eliminated Tuesday from the series.

DelVets has advanced to the final four in the American Legion World series and will play tonight for a chance to win it all. 

 

After winning their first game over Billings, MT by a score of 6-1 they fell in their next game against Midland, MI 9-2. In order to stay alive and advance to the final four they got a big 3-2 win as they defeated Bossier City, LA.

 

Brady fox pitched a gem going six innings allowing three hits, two runs, one earned while striking out seven batters. Jack Rossi closed the door on the game pitching the last inning striking out two of the three batters. At the plate Michael Smyth went 2-3 with an RBI, while Aidan Kee and Tre Villanova added a hit and an RBI a piece. 

 

With the win DelVets plays tonight at 7pm against Troy, AL with the winner advancing to the championship. Winner of the game will advance to tomorrow’s championship game that is set for 7pm and will face the winner of Midland, MI or League City, TX which is played at 4pm today. 

 

All of the games will be televised on ESPNU tonight at 7pm as well as live stats available from STATBroadcast if you can’t watch the game on TV. 

 

Best of luck tonight to DelVets as they take on Troy, AL tonight. We will be watching.
