The Delaware Beer Fest runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday in Wilmington.
Lovers of lagers, aficionados of ales and pundits of pilsners will have five hours to explore dozens of beers Saturday.
From noon to 5 p.m., the Figure 8 Barn in Bellevue State Park (2360 Lower Lot Road in Wilmington) will host the second and final Delaware Beer Fest this year.
The event will feature more than 100 selections from over 70 breweries, wineries and distilleries.
“The Delaware Beer Fest unites our vibrant community at the heart of a historic park, all for a tremendous cause,” said Dennis Carradin, chief executive officer of the Trauma Survivors Foundation, the event organizer.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Hospital Heroes Food Drive, which has delivered over 100,000 meals to 120 locations including to hospitals, police, firefighters, and EMS.
Proceeds will also help support the group’s new therapy and wellness dog program, he said.
“With every cheer and clink of glasses, we’re making a difference,” Carradin said. “Moreover, our fest empowers the Trauma Survivors Foundation to nurture future healers by funding educational scholarships for psychology students.”
The rain-or-shine event is 21+ and will have live music and gourmet cuisine.
Those looking for something a bit stronger than the dozens of craft beers will find wines and spirits to choose from.
“Several new brands will be available to sample including local Blu Steel Vodka and Jefferson Bourbon,” Carradin said.
Celebrity Chef Robbie Jester and James Beard-nominated chef Jeremiah Brooks from Hamilton’s on Main will add savory flair as they’ll turn their culinary expertise into unique creations for attendees.
The event also features food trucks.
Nashville band Parker Barrow will perform on a stop of their national tour. Local musicians Kris V and Ritchie D will be rocking the second stage.
There will also be games, trivia and a photobooth to keep folks entertained throughout the day.
“Several lifestyle vendors will be available along with our local merchant vendors,” Carradin said. “Vendors are offering chances to win prizes and even vacation packages.”
A general admission ticket costs $50 and includes a commemorative beer tasting mug, unlimited beer samples and entry for a chance to win a Caribbean vacation worth $2,500.
A VIP ticket costs $70 and includes a commemorative beer tasting mug, a commemorative T-shirt, two beer tickets for the Big Oyster Brewery or Bellefonte Brewing CO Brandywine Beer Garden, unlimited beer samples and an entry in drawing for a Caribbean vacation worth $3,600.
Designated driver tickets are $15 and include a voucher for a water bottle and a soft drink.
Free parking is available at the Black Rock Corporate Center at 400 Bellevue Parkway in Wilmington.
