The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and The Partnership, Inc. are recognizing outstanding programs that are shaping the state’s workforce with their annual Superstars in Education and Training awards.
These honors highlight innovative educational programs that play a key role in developing the skilled workforce necessary to attract and retain businesses in Delaware.
Since its inception in 1989, the awards program has recognized impactful initiatives that are helping to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills required for success in various industries.
This year, the chamber has streamlined the application process to emphasize collaboration and measurable impact, with a new category introduced to honor corporate training programs.

In total, four awards will be presented to those who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to workforce development: one for an independent training and certificate provider, one for a higher education program, one for a corporate training program, and one for a Delaware high school.
The awards will be presented during the second annual Navigating Delaware Pathways: An Education and Workforce Development Summit at Bally’s Dover Hotel & Casino on April 29.
This year’s Superstars
Pathways to Success (PTS) – Independent Training and Certificate Provider
PTS has been empowering underserved Delaware students for nearly two decades. With a focus on mentorship, career readiness, and skills development, PTS helps students break the cycle of poverty and transition to higher education, the workforce, or the military. The program, which serves 400 students annually, focuses on customer service, teamwork, resume writing, leadership, and more, ensuring that students are prepared for long-term success.
M. Davis & Sons Welding Training Program – Corporate Training Program
For over 26 years, M. Davis & Sons has offered a welding training program that helps employees improve their skills and earn new certifications. This in-house, AWS-certified program is open to full-time employees, allowing them to qualify for higher wages and expand their career opportunities in the welding field.
Delaware Technical Community College – Higher Education Program
Delaware Tech’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program offers a comprehensive, 240-hour curriculum that combines classroom learning with practical driving experience. With hands-on training and small class sizes, the program equips students with the skills needed to secure high-paying jobs in the trucking industry, one of the state’s most in-demand sectors.
MOT Charter High School – High School Program
MOT Charter’s Career and College Ready Capstone Program gives students real-world STEM experience through simulated company structures and hands-on projects. Students gain leadership, project management, and teamwork skills while working on engineering and technology projects. The program prepares students for both college and careers, culminating in presentations to industry experts.
Additionally, several programs will receive Awards of Excellence, including Polytech Adult Education’s Practical Nursing Program, The WRK Group’s RISE Program, and DEMEC’s Lineworker Training Program.
The Navigating Delaware Pathways summit will bring together leaders from education, business, and government to discuss the future of workforce development.
The event is open to educators, business leaders, and policymakers, with opportunities for sponsorship and registration now available.
