If you ever spent a day home sick as a kid – wrapped in a blanket, ginger ale in hand, waiting for the music and cheers of The Price Is Right – this one’s for you. The beloved game show that defined daytime television for generations is coming to life in Wilmington this fall.

On October 29, 2025, at 8 p.m., The Price Is Right Live™ will take over The Playhouse on Rodney Square, transforming the historic theater into a full-scale game-show stage. Audience members will be chosen at random to “come on down” and play fan-favorite games like Plinko™, Cliffhangers™, The Big Wheel™, and Showcase Showdown.

A Tribute to Bob Barker’s Legacy

For 35 years, Bob Barker was the face – and heart – of The Price Is Right. His warm humor, impeccable timing, and signature sign-off (“Help control the pet population…”) made the show a national ritual. Barker passed away in 2023, but his legacy still echoes in every spin of the wheel and every gasp from the crowd.

That spirit lives on in the touring production, now hosted by Emmy Award-winning game-show veteran Todd Newton, who brings Barker’s same mix of energy and generosity to the stage. “All the crowd-favorite games will be on hand, including Plinko, Punch-A-Bunch, and the Big Wheel,” Newton said in an interview ahead of a previous Wilmington run. “We are just weeks away from all the excitement you’ve loved on television for so long.”

Newton, who’s hosted the live show for years, says his goal is to make every night feel spontaneous and joyful. “You never know what’s going to happen – that’s the magic. When someone’s name is called and they leap out of their seat, the room lights up.”

The Show Experience

Unlike the TV broadcast, the live version isn’t filmed – meaning the audience energy drives everything. Dozens of lucky attendees will be called to the stage to guess prices, spin the Big Wheel, and compete for real prizes, from appliances and electronics to vacations and even a new car.

Even those not called up can win seat prizes, and VIP ticket-holders have a chance to meet the host or even spin the wheel after the show. Tickets range from $66 to $96, available through The Grand Wilmington.

Delaware’s Turn in the Spotlight

Wilmington audiences have proven game-show fans before – the 2021 tour stop drew a packed house, and The Playhouse on Rodney Square expects the same in 2025. According to The Grand’s listing, the live tour has awarded more than $15 million in prizes across the country over its 20-year run, and its loyal following shows no signs of slowing down.

Bringing the production back to Delaware feels like a perfect fit – the show’s blend of nostalgia and pure fun appeals across generations. It’s a reminder of simpler times when excitement meant spinning a wheel or guessing the price of a refrigerator.

A Night of Nostalgia and New Memories

Expect laughter, cheers, and maybe a few tears of joy when the curtain rises. The familiar theme music will play, lights will flash, and for a moment, the audience will be transported back to childhood living rooms where dreams of winning big felt only a guess away.

Bob Barker may no longer be with us, but the joy he created lives on through Todd Newton and the crowds who still love the thrill of hearing, “Come on down!”

October 29th is your chance to experience the excitement firsthand – whether you’re bidding, spinning, or simply cheering, The Price Is Right Live™ experience is sure to make everyone feel like a winner.
