WILMINGTON — The 38th annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival kicks off this week, bringing live music and community celebration to Rodney Square June 18–21.
Dubbed the largest free jazz festival on the East Coast, this four-day celebration honors the legacy of local legend Clifford Brown and delivers an electrifying lineup of world-class performances, free to the public.

A mix of artists will perform throughout the weekend, from “Celebration of Black Joy & Friends” and Ingrid Jensen on Wednesday, through Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers and Sullivan Fortner’s Sun Ra tribute on Thursday. Friday brings soulful headliners Chante Moore and Eric Benét, while Saturday showcases Lili Añel, Carmen Lundy, and Maya Belardo.
Each evening, late-night jazz spills into downtown venues like The Queen, Wilmington Public Library, and The Nomad.
