WILMINGTON- The City of Wilmington’s Department of Public Works released a weekly traffic and travel advisory, detailing upcoming construction, maintenance, and repaving projects.
From Monday, March 3- Saturday, March 8, the city urges residents and commuters to stay informed about roadwork and potential travel disruptions.
To assist travelers, the City provides a real-time traffic and travel map at this link, which is updated daily to reflect any schedule changes due to weather or construction delays.
Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams emphasized the city’s commitment to providing the most accurate and up-to-date information each week. However, she noted that schedules could shift based on factors such as inclement weather or unforeseen construction delays.

Downtown construction updates
Anyone traveling through downtown Wilmington should be aware of continued left lane restrictions and intermittent closures on North Orange Street between West 8th and West 9th streets. These disruptions are related to the near-completion construction of The Press apartments.
North French Street remains closed between East 11th and East 12th streets due to construction at the former MBNA buildings. The closure is part of preparations for Incyte’s relocation to this site.
