NEWARK — ChristianaCare has named two new physician executives to lead its Emergency Medicine and Pediatric service lines, selecting Lauren Cooksey, M.D., and Megan Mickley, M.D., MBA, for the roles.

Dr. Cooksey, who joined ChristianaCare in 2012, will serve as department chair and physician executive of the Emergency Medicine Service Line. She has been recognized by Delaware Today as a Top Doctor and was awarded the Rising Star Award in Emergency Medicine. She previously held leadership roles including vice chair of Emergency Medicine and medical director of Wilmington Hospital.
In addition to her clinical duties, Cooksey is active in advocacy, education, and the development of emergency medicine policies and training programs. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island and her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Her residency in Emergency Medicine was completed at ChristianaCare.
Dr. Mickley, named department chair and physician executive of the Pediatric Service Line, has been with ChristianaCare since 2021. She led the launch of the Pediatric Care Center in 2022 and established the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Prior to her work at ChristianaCare, Mickley developed pediatric emergency ultrasound programs at several specialized pediatric institutions.
She has received recognition as a Top Doctor by Delaware Today and remains a board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician. Her global health work includes time in Vietnam and with Partners In Health in Haiti, as well as providing emergency care during major crises like the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the 2015 Baltimore protests.
Dr. Mickley earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA in health administration from the University of Colorado. She completed a Pediatrics residency at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital/University of Michigan and fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Emergency Ultrasound at Boston Children’s Hospital and CHOP, respectively.
“Their vision and experience will be instrumental in advancing our mission to deliver high-quality, equitable and accessible care to our community. I am confident they will continue to elevate our emergency and pediatric services and inspire the teams they lead,” said Anzilotti.
