East Main Street in Newark has reopened between Tyre and Library avenues, following fire department activity today looking into reports of a gas line being hit by a contractor, according to Delmarva Power spokesman Timothy Stokes.
“The project included demolishing a building that used to house a Fulton Bank financial center, and then constructing the new building,” said Fulton Bank spokesman Steve Trapnell. “During construction, Fulton Bank’s financial center is housed in a temporary building at the back of the parking lot.
“Fulton Bank does not own this property and does not have contractors working at the site,” he said. “This property is being redeveloped by Lang Development Group into a multi-tenant building. When the project is complete, Fulton Bank will become one of the tenants and operate a financial center there.”
Lang offices were closed today.
