Longwood Gardens held on to its title as the country’s Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights show.
It’s the third year that the former estate of Pierre du Pont won the 10Best/USA Today title, which asks people to vote for their favorite display.
Longwood also won the award in 2018 and 2019.
The display in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, features more than 500,000 outdoor lights and fountains that dance to holiday classics.
Longwood beat the Galaxy of Lights at Huntsville Botanical Garden in Huntsville, Alabama; Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine; Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights, at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia; and Winter Lights at The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina.
In addition to the lights award, in 2014, 2016 and 2018 Longwood was named Best Botanical Garden in North America.
Guests can see the outdoor holiday display through Jan. 10, 2021, but indoor facilities have been closed because of COVID-19 restrictions. Admission to the Christmas display is by timed tickets, which must be purchased in advance for a specific date and time. Limited tickets are available now at longwoodgardens.org.
Longwood Gardens is open daily (including holidays) and is located on US Route 1 near Kennett Square, PA, 30 miles west of Philadelphia.
