A month of daytime closures is on the way for northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Brandywine Hundred, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced today.
The closures, accompanied by lane shifts, are needed for maintenance of bridges over Talley and Shipley roads. The bridge jacking operation is expected to run through mid-January.
The work is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting Tuesday and pending weather, as DelDOT always cautions in its announcements, meaning here that don’t expect them to be working Wednesday, when a major storm is predicted.
The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm watch from 7 a.m. Wednesday through 7 a.m. Thursday.
“Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations in excess of 5 inches are possible. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph,” the government agency said today.
