As Thanksgiving nears, and many family dinners and Friendgivings land on calendars, the state of Delaware is making it easy to be tested for COVID-19 before and after the holidays.

“Led by the Delaware Depatment of Emergency Management and Director A.J. Schall Jr., we have been increasing testing — permanent sites and mobile, community-based locations — statewide as we head into the colder months and challenges of the winter,” said Jon Starkey, spokesman for Gov. John Carney. “Testing is the best way to track spread of COVID and respond to potential outbreaks.

“Whether Delawareans have symptoms or not, they should consider getting a free test at a location near them.”

DEMA has coordinated community sites this week in addition to sites at Walgreens and at various hospitals and health care locations. Delawareans can view a full list of COVID-19 testing locations and reserve a spot at de.gov/gettested
