Marsh Road

Reconstruction of the Marsh Road interchange with I-95 reaches another milestone on or about Oct. 10, when Exit 9 from I-95 southbound to Marsh is due to open.

The signal at I-95 and Marsh will be activated at the same time, according to the Delaware Department of Transportation. The project called for an additional turn lane for this exit.

And a new traffic pattern on Marsh starts Saturday, pending weather.

The current contraflow pattern will be removed, and one lane will be reopened in each direction of Marsh. Left turns from Marsh will remain restricted while the median is constructed; motorists are to follow the posted detours. The second lane of Marsh will remain closed each direction for the remainder of the project.

The project began in the spring of 2019. Major changes included widening Carr Road and adding a traffic signal on the I-95 northbound exit, moves intended to reduce rush hour congestion related to office parks just to the south. The project also improved the area for pedestrians and bicyclists.
