Free Covid-19 testing expands to nearly a dozen locations in New Castle County this week.
Starting on Saturday, June 20th, free testing sites will open for mid-day hours at locations in Wilmington, Claymont, New Castle, Newark and Hockessin. The locations include schools, libraries, Frawley Stadium, and DuPont’s Chestnut Run office building.
Participants do not need to have symptoms to receive the test.
This is the third week of testing offered by the County in partnership with the State of Delaware and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency.
Test locations were selected with input from a number of sources including doctors, epidemiologists, non-profits, faith-based and community leaders.
Self-administered tests using oral swabs are easy
The tests are self-administered oral swabs provided by Curative. Participants swab the inside of their mouth, drop the swab into the tube, and drop off the package on their way out of the parking lot. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes and even less if subjects are pre-registered.
Test results are expected back to participants within 72 hours via email.
