Don’t ever say your local county government isn’t creative.
Your public servants in New Castle County have come up with a clever way to market the county while so many of us are stuck inside, doing Zoom video conference calls (or happy hours).
The county has curated some “snazzy” (their word) New Castle County-themed images you can download as your virtual backgrounds, showing your local county pride.
The plethora of images – photos of parks, libraries, and other scenes from up and down New Castle County including Becks Pond, DelCastle Recreation Area, Middle Run, Coverdale Farms, the Jack Markell Trail, Rockwood and Glasgow Parks – can all be found and easily downloaded at www.wegotthatbackground.com.
By clicking on the link, a .zip file of nearly 40 images (be advised: it is large) will be downloaded to your computer for you to peruse, select and upload to your video conference platform. The county says additional backgrounds will be added at a later date.
County also delivers 1000 N95 respirators to first responders
New Castle County Executive Matthew Meyer and members of his executive team delivered personal protective equipment today to firefighters and police officers.
The Wilmington Fire Department received 1,000 N95 respirators, and Elsmere officers received 50 N95 masks. Funding for PPE came from the emergency COVID-19 funding approved by the council two weeks ago.
