There aren’t a lot of places for most of us to go at the moment. But the runs to the pharmacy and store will be cheaper as the average price of gas across Delaware hit $2.08 cents for a gallon of regular unleaded.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas prices are the lowest they’ve been in over a year due to plunging crude oil prices at twenty-year lows. Prices at the Delaware pump are down 39 cents from a year ago.
Delaware has cheaper fuel than the rest of the country, with a national gas price average of $2.17 today, 13 cents less than a week ago, 28 cents less than a month ago and 41 cents less than last year on this date.

Wawa suspends self-serve coffee and sodas
Meanwhile, the region’s largest convenience store chain is temporarily changing its self-service coffee and suspending its fountain beverages (including cappuccino and iced coffee) until further notice. The store has instructed employees to serve coffee to customers in an effort to mitigate the efforts of the coronavirus.
In addition, Wawa is rolling out options for customers for delivery and using mobile ordering.
“We continue to take extra cleaning precautionary measures from heightened cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces and making hand sanitizer available for use in the customer areas,” the store said in a statement.
“We will also be closing all of our stores for a period at night to provide for additional cleaning, sanitizing and restocking,” said a company representative.
