A special behind the scenes tour of the new Sprouts Market opening on the Concord Pike tomorrow shows you don’t have to be wealthy to be healthy.
The whimsical farmer’s market theme and bright, airy décor also demonstrate why the new Sprouts will stand out. Strolling the aisles beneath multiple skylights gives the sense of being in a fresh, outdoor space. And the layout and size allow you to get everything you need, without the lost feeling because the market is too large. You can see everything the store sells from the front door, making it easy and inviting to navigate.
The real Sprouts differentiator is, of course, the produce. The depth of variety is unmatched. For instance, there are twenty different citrus fruits from blood oranges to key limes. The prices are very competitive. 90% of it is natural or organic. And the produce department smells great.
There are so many different approaches to healthy eating, from Vegan, gluten-free to Keto…and Sprouts accommodates them all. Clearly marked gluten-free and dairy-free sections make it easy to find your food tribe.
All the meats are fresh, never frozen. The sausages and ground beef are made in house by the staff butcher. The fish and Seafood department is 98% sustainably sourced. Both the meats and seafood are delivered six days a week.
Sprouts is a one-stop destination if you are willing to try private label or specialty brands….not Tide or Pepsi. It carries mostly private label brands, like Sprouts sugar, flour even Sprouts toilet bowl cleaners. They carry premium specialty brands as well, tempting you to try something new.
There’s also a small seating area with banquettes so that you can buy food and eat it right there.
They have a prepared food department, behind a glass counter. It looks great and better yet, clean. They have many grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, free wifi, small eating area, and ample parking. I truly believe this is going to put a dent into the Concord Pike competition … and don’t forget to download the easy to use Sprouts app.
In the six-mile stretch from Acme to Wegmans on Route 202, there are already six grocery stores. Tomorrow, Sprouts Farmers Market will make it seven, but it will inhabit its own space in the local marketplace. The 4801 Concord Pike location – the former site of the Barnes and Noble bookstore – is the 340th Sprouts for the Arizona based chain.
Sprouts already has 122 newly hired team members at the new location, most of which have ample experience in the grocery industry. To handle the crowds expected for tomorrow’s grand opening, Sprouts is borrowing seasoned employees from the New Jersey Sprouts. There are also eight check out registers, including two express.
The Grand Opening of the 28,000 square foot store will take place on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 am.
