A major stretch of Lancaster Pike in Wilmington is under construction causing lane closures that will last at least through the end of April.

DelDOT said the single-lane traffic from 7pm until 6am during weekdays is required to fix a 1935 water main along the road between DuPont and Route 141.

Once that work is completed DelDOT will turn its attention to curbs and sidewalks followed by milling and paving of the road surface. DelDOT spokesperson CR McLeod says Route 141 “tie-in work” will happen on four successive weekends once the project is finished during which time detours will be in place.

The road closures are the latest impact related to the massive construction project that has impacted the 141 corridor for more than two years.
