Traffic-snarling repairs to one of New Castle County’s most traveled thoroughfares continue, and will soon cause the closure of a ramps to and from I-295 northbound.
The massive Route 141 construction project, kicked off in 2017, will require closure of the on and off ramps to I-295 northbound, beginning 4:00 pm on March 1 and lasting until late May, according to the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT).
DelDOT announced that Exit 2/Rte. 141 southbound to I-295 northbound will be closing for the construction of new ramps and roadway. The agency also said that Airport Road westbound from Rte. 141 southbound to the I-95 northbound exit ramp will be closed through the same period.
DelDOT further said that Airport Road will be permanently closed between Rte. 141 southbound and northbound.
Detour Routes for Exit 2:
For traffic on Route 141 southbound, north of I-95 interchange, motorists will take the ramp to I-95 southbound to Route 58/Churchmans Road, turn left onto Route 7, take ramp to I-95 northbound and take ramp to I-295 northbound.
For traffic on Route 141 southbound, south of I-95 interchange, motorists will take the ramp to US 13 northbound, and take ramp to I-295 northbound.
Detour Route for Airport Road westbound:
For traffic on Route 141 southbound, motorists will turn right onto Commons Boulevard, and turn right onto Airport Road.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
