A bank employee was attacked by a man with pepper spray yesterday in the Fairfax Shopping Center on Concord Pike.
The unprovoked assault took place just after 11:00 am on Tuesday in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2011 Concord Pike, Wilmington.
Delaware State Police say a 23-year-old female bank employee was walking through the parking lot when a male subject approached and asked if she was a bank employee. After responding yes, the male produced a canister of pepper spray and sprayed the victim. The woman continued into the bank and the male fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
The victim does not know the assailant. Police described him as a white male, 50-60 years of age, 5’7”-5”8” tall, 175-185 pounds, wearing a brown jacket. Prior to the assault the suspect was observed leaning against a white unknown make and model sedan.
No surveillance footage captured the incident.
