State Police are investigating the incident that occurred just before midnight at 1801 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Investigators say a male suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and demanded money, implying that he was armed, although no weapon was shown. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot northbound on Concord Pike. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect was described as a white male, 5’10”, average build, wearing a dark-colored jacket and jeans.
Police said there are no surveillance images of the crime. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Troop 2 Robbery Unit at 302-365-8566.
The stick up is the fourth of a gas station within a few weeks along the busy north Wilmington thoroughfare; three earlier robberies of a Talleyville Exxon in late December led to the arrest of a man in connection with two of them.
