Delaware State Police are investigating two stickups that occurred within a mile of each other on Concord Pike last week.
The first incident took place at approximately 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 in the Pep Boys parking lot at 2904 Concord Pike. Police say a 36-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were seated in their vehicle when two male suspects approached the vehicle and began banging on the passenger side door attempting to make a forcible entry. One of the suspects brandished a handgun.
The female was able to exit the vehicle and fled unharmed. The armed suspect entered the vehicle via the passenger door and began physically assaulting the male victim while demanding the contents of his pockets. The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.
Both suspects then fled on foot into a wooded area behind the business. The male victim refused medical treatment for minor injuries sustained during the incident.
The suspects were described as black males wearing all dark clothing. Police say no surveillance images are available at this time.
The following Thursday evening December 19 at approximately 11:55 p.m., two male suspects robbed the Exxon gas station at 5301 Concord Pike. One of the suspects brandished a large knife, according to police.
The duo demanded cash from both the gas station employee as well as a customer, taking cash from both the register and the bystander. After making the heist the suspects fled in an unknown direction. Neither victim was injured.
The first suspect was described as a black male, wearing a red jacket, dark pants and had a cloth concealing his face. The other suspect was described as a black male, wearing all dark clothing and in possession of a knife.
