Mother Nature served up her very best last Friday for more than 700 guests who attended the 14th annual A Night at Nemours gala, held on the Nemours Estate in Rockland.
Guests at the June 14th fete enjoyed a bright sky and spectacular temps as they took leisurely walks through the grounds of the estate, mingled during the cocktail hour and posed for keepsake photos. Then the party moved under the big top, where guests enjoyed a seated dinner followed by dancing at dusk.
Several patients, caregivers and doctors Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hosptial for Children spoke at the event offering moving remarks about the importance of top quality cardiac care. Eleven-year-old Capucine Jauffret, one of the Nemours cardiac patient ambassadors, shared her story during the event to help raise funds for Nemours Cardiac Research.
The event, presented by Jefferson, raised nearly $500,000 to support cardiac research at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Hospital representatives say funding from the event will give children with heart conditions the best chance for a long and disability-free life.
“We are thrilled to have so many guests together in support of our Night at Nemours gala,” said Cathy Kanefsky, Nemours Chief Development Officer. “It is heartwarming to see members from so many facets of the community come together to celebrate and raise funds that will transform the future for children facing serious cardiac conditions.”
Over the past 14 years, A Night at Nemours has raised more than $4 million for Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hosptial for Children.
