CSW has won 19 championships in the Delaware Environthon’s 23-year-year-history. 2018 champs (l to r): Ashley Pennington, Harshitha Henry, Priyanka Hoskere Siddharth Gangrade, Tara Lennon

An analysis of regional high schools concludes that Charter School of Wilmington (CSW) has the strongest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program in the Philadelphia area. CSW was also ranked as the second best public school in the region.

The assessment by Niche.com is based on data from the US Department of Education along with SAT and ACT and other test scores, AP math and science enrollment, student-teacher ratios, parent and student surveys and colleges attended by graduates.

Charter School of Wilmington team advisors Rose Lounsbury and Greg Darone joined their students at the National Environthon in Idaho – summer 2018

According to their website, Niche calls itself the “best place to research U.S. colleges, schools, neighborhoods, and companies. Every month millions of people use our easy-to-read and comprehensive report cards, rankings, and reviews to choose the right schools or neighborhoods for them.

“Niche does rigorous cleaning and analysis on large data sets, and combines them with feedback from our community for nuanced insight that can’t be found anywhere else.”
