Scrooge: Inspiring Tale Delights at Delaware Children’s Theatre

Scrooge kicked off last weekend at Delaware Children’s Theatre just in time to start your holidays. This beloved musical classic features the miserly Scrooge who learns to love life through the visits of four ghosts.

Kenn Koubek, who plays Ebenezer Scrooge, is spot-on in his apt portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge, who Charles Dickens describes as such: “The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue; and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice.”

Filled with lively songs and a heartwarming message, this Charles Dickens classic includes each of the ghosts — past, present and future — who visit the lonely, penny-pinching Scrooge and convince him to change his ways.

Replete with dozens of roles for the theatre’s young actors, including the character Tiny Tim, Scrooge embraces the true spirit of the holidays and is a delight for the whole family. Shows at 2 pm Saturdays and Sunday through December 9th.
